Single Friends
Single Friends - Do
Do invite them to couple’s parties (it’s about friendships with people not couples).
Do find time to hangout with them without your spouse coming along every time.
Do let them tell their single dating horror stories over and over (they will eventually end).
Do lend your shoulder when they need to cry.
Do reinforce all the great things going on in their life.
Do remind them that if they really want to find someone they will!
Do be open about your own relationship (the ups and downs).
Do point out what’s great about being single.
Single Friends – Don’t
Don’t try and set them up after a recent breakup.
Don’t glorify relationships.
Don’t try and set them up with every single person you know.
Don’t refer to them as your single friend.
Don’t pity them for being single, they could actually be happy!
Don’t not invite them to your children’s activities and parties just because they don’t have kids.
Don’t let them have too many pity parties.
